My World Tour: Rotorua Thermal Village, New Zealand |
Back to Home Page to New Zealand Main Page Back to Nature Page
Rotorua is nicknamed "Sulphur City" (rotten eggs) with the most energetic thermal activity in the country, with bubbling mud pools, gurgling hot springs, gushing geysers and evil smells. The Maori population moved to the area hundreds of years ago for the natural heat (for the winter) and built there homes right on the steam pools. The area is a big attraction for the natural healing properties of the mineral baths and the Maori native shows.
