This is a monastery village in the south of India between Mangalore and Bangalore.  It is the largest Tibetan monastery in the world and was built to replace the monasteries of Tibet after His Holiness, the Dalai Lama and others escaped in the late 50s.  It was an oasis of peace and quiet in the chaos and overwhelming sense overload of most India.
