This was formally the summer palace, now a luxury hotel.  It actually sits on a little island.  The James Bond Film "Octopussy" was filmed here.  If you're in town, you'll find that the movie plays every night at a dozen different hostels.

Udaipur is known for its puppet show.  The floating palace put on a puppet and dance show along with dinner for $ 15 USD.  By western standards, that's pretty good, in India that's a month wage.
